Divers used to get sent straight to Koh Tao when they asked for the best diving in this area.
Now they are realising that here on Koh Phangan we have easy access to the same range of dive sites & more, meaning an even greater variety!
Chaloklum Diving School started off in 1995 as a 2 man operation, diving off a quiet island from the beach or by longtail boat and has grown steadily since then. We (Nick and Michael) have been PADI professionals for 15+ years & our motivation is still a passion for diving & teaching it to others. The team is made up mainly of people trained by us, but everyone shares our belief in quality diving.
We offer luxury diving trips and a full range of PADI dive training programmes. However you choose to dive with us there will always be a PADI professional caring for a group of no more than 4 people; our policy with trained divers is the same as with students: small groups, long dives, personal attention and enough time. Most of our diving is done from our own fully equipped 22 x 5m dive boat. We visit all the top sites; Sail Rock, Marine Park, Koh Tao, 3 x Pinnacles & local destinations. Good food, fresh fruit, tea/coffee & soft drinks are usually provided on your day out.
We teach PADI diver programmes in English, German and Thai (with teaching materials in many other languages) from novice to pro. For the beginner we have an easy introduction; Discover Scuba Diving (1/2 or 1 day) or the full 4 day Open Water Diver course. Beyond this we offer Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, EFR (first aid), Speciality courses, and if you have the time, you can become a professional Divemaster.
Although we do have an unbroken safety record, it is good to know that we are a fully insured and licensed TAT (Tourist Authority of Thailand) operation. Our team are all first aid/O2 trained, we are sponsors of DAN (Divers Alert Network) for S.E. Asia and the excellent Koh Samui hyperbaric facility (24hr decompression chamber) is close nearby.
