"My experience with the PADI school for diving was one of the most interesting, exciting, and fun things I did in Thailand. If you plan on getting your Open Water certificate, don't think, just DO IT!! You're in Thailand for heaven sakes. Have an adventure and do what comes to you at the spur of the moment. Be impulsive!! The course instructors were very encouraging and not difficult to talk to. If you are worried they speak only speak Thai, you are dead wrong. They speak perfect English and have many other language they can speak and teach in. The boat ride was quite nice. i really enjoyed sitting on a large vessel and it was much cleaner than any other boat I've been on during my trip in Thailand. I was glad the waters were calm because I get motion sickness quite easy but when I got to Sail Rock to go on the Open Dive, it was just an amazing site to see (under the water). I used to think that if I went diving I was bound to get eaten by a shark but I did not see one and now I definitely want to see them. I was very scared of the ocean in the past but now I absolutely love diving and am looking forward to my next diving adventure. At Sail Rock there is an enormous amount of sea life just everywhere you look. I use to live my life watching the under water world through the television but it just feels so natural and real to go see it for yourself just don't touch the anemones. It almost feels like a dream being underwater because it's something you may not have experienced if you have not gone diving before. Being 10 feet under the water is the same as being 50 feet under water. I never did see Bambi the last days i was there. I wanted to thank him for showing me a whole new world that I've been missing. "Hi, Just finished my first Sail Rock DSD dive and it was great. The instructors were really helpful and reassuring for someone who has never dived before. They started by teaching some skills and made sure that I was confident when diving. The instructor ratio was nice (two people per instructor). I saw a whale shark and that was really cool!! It spent about 20 minutes swimming around us. Thanks for all your help setting it up. It was great.

Our PADI 5 star school has an onsite swimming pool, private boat pier, large dive boat, air con classrooms, videographer, small group sizes (Max four persons) and a free taxi pickup and drop off (excluding east side of the island) provided with your diving which will save a lot of money on taxi fares on this 30Km long island!
Koh Phangan is a hidden gem for divers due to its uniqueness for including Sail Rock, the best dive site on the east coast of Thailand and a great dive site to undertake all your PADI experiences! It may also be possible to combine one of the premier ˜Golden Triangle' trips to Sail Rock, Chumpon Pinnacles and South West Pinnacles which are the three best dives sites in the Gulf of Thailand if this trip is running the days of your diving!
Sail Rock itself is a 30 meter maximum depth dive site in the shape of an iceberg with an amazing 12 meter swim-through called 'The Chimney' which has entrances at both 12 and 18 meters. When asked about marine life its a simple answer, fish soup! Sail Rock also has the highest number of whale shark sightings anywhere in Thailand!
With a island party atmosphere, fantastic social life and the amazing Sail Rock you will be more than happy that you undertook your PADI dive course on Koh Phangan!
The PADI Open Water Course is the most popular training course to help you obtain your diving certification for scuba diving to a maximum depth of 18 metres.
PADI Open Water courses on Koh Phangan can be taken in just 3 days as we start early in the morning.
Children over 10 years old can take the Junior Open Water Course.
If you are visiting the famous Full Moon Party, then consider doing your Open Water course on Koh Phangan a few days before the party starts
After the party you have many choices.
Either head over to our dive facility on Koh Tao to undertake your Advanced course so you get a full variation of dive sites in the Gulf.
Alternatively, journey over to our dive facilities on Phi Phi and Phuket to continue your courses at the dive sites in the Andaman Sea on the West coast of Thailand.
