AO HIN KONG

Ao Hin Kong has a 2 Km beach that is mostly undeveloped, the southern section is only five or so metres from the road, thus there are only a couple of bungalows operations mainly renting to long-termers. The coral reef lies about 300 metres off the beach and the bay is only good for swimming in high tide season (November to March).

Mangrove trees line the beaches and give the place a real untouched feel, great for catching a sunset in solitude. A sign warns not to take seashells and corals from the bay, respect this as it is haven for nature and it is illegal to take them home.

AO CHAO PHAO

Ao Chao Phao is one of the reasons the west became so popular in the early days due to its beautiful sunset views and softly curved bay that is the image of paradise.

AO SRI THANU

Ao Sri Thanu is a fairly large bay that starts at the rocky peninsula of Laem Niad, a good place to swim. The cental section of the bay is used as the local harbour for small fishing boats and the broad northern end of the beach is shaded by tall pines.

HAD DAO DEUK

In between Had Yao and Had Son, the less-visited idyllic cove of Had Dao Deuk is a peaceful hideaway. From the beach, it is possible to swim to the coral reef.

Had Kruad is a small beach with course sand and coral deposits

HAD MAE HAD

Had Mae Had is a long beach with soft white sand. The best time to visit Had Mae Had (as with all beaches this side of the island) is between the months of Dec-Mar, as during the rest of the year the sea level becomes lower and simming is not so good. Although it is still possible to enjoy the snorkelling and excellent coral reef during the whole year.

HAD SALAD

Had Salad is a beautiful and secluded beach; good for swimming in high tidal seasons (November to April) with a reef about 150metres offshore that is a well-known dive site.

Had Son is a previously privately owned beach that only has one resort at its northern end.

Had Thian (west) is a small secluded beach with only one resort.

HAD YAO (WEST)

Had Yao or "Long Beach" is picture postcard material, with a one kilometre beach that is wide enough to play football on, sunset views, beautiful vistas and more than enough space to allow for it’s ever expanding popularity; many consider it the "perfect" beach.
